Lynne Forsythe

Lynne staying true to her style.....made some flowers. Using a piece of blank canvas paper she cut flowers using her Spiral Blossom die. She then colored them using various Distress Reinker Mixtures and Distress Stains. The quote is comprised of Alpha Parts ~ Newsprint and Ransom colored with Snow Cap and Gold Metallic Alcohol Inks. Everything was adhered

to the velvet canvas with Multi Medium.

Tracy Evans

Tracy is definitely moving towards Spring with this little Easter duo, a card and decorated gift bag using the Easter Elements die. The background on the card has been decorated using the mini harlequin Crafters Workshop template sponged with vintage photo Distress Ink onto Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back Canvas, giving great texture to the card. Distress Stain wild honey, Salvage Stickers and a little background stamping from ART RULES along with stitching add a little more interest.

Terry

Terry created a shallow Shadow Box for her home. The frame is covered with Tim's Sketchbook Tissue Tape, and even the background uses more fabby Tim tapes coated with lots of Distress Crackle Paint. Terry used Vintage Photo on all the edges, the sentiment is from the Artistic Outpost Happiness set and the flowers created with the Mini Paper Rosette's. On top she used Sprocket Gears, Game Spinners and the fabulous Just Flutterby Butterfly from Wendy Vecchi.

Candy

Candy's Anything Goes piece features Sticky Back Canvas and Distress Embossing Powders. Her Grungeboard Bingo Embossed Dress Form on a 6x6 board was a fun project. The Mini Baroque die cut is adorned with dimensional pieces from Tim Holtz' Haberdashery stamp set and decorative Ideaology Memo Pins.

Sarah Engels-Greer

Paint, Wendy goodies and a hint of Spring! Sarah used the Art Parts Bookplates, Leaves, Flowers and Florals to create her hinged screens. Lots of Wendy Stamps, Claudine Hellmuth paints and Clearly for Art butterflies complete the little twosome.

Nancy Wethington

This week's challenge led Nancy to Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 Art Parts mini which she paired up with a new collection from Prima. The mini chipboard pages were covered with 6x6 papers from Printery and interspersed with chipboard from the same collection. Nancy thinks Art Parts + Prima is a perfect marriage of mini book with mini images.

Ellen Vargo

Ellen altered an IKEA mirror this week. She used Dylusions ink sprays and stencils, 12 x 12 sticky back canvas, and used black paint dabber with Dylusions stamps. She used the canvas to cover 8 square chipboard tiles and adhered to the frame with multi medium.

Dan

Since he moved to a larger home a while back, Dan still has a lot of empty walls to fill, so he's opted for a home decor piece this week. He used the Residential Art and Ultimate Grunge stamp sets, snippets from the Retro Grunge card stack, Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints, Distress Stains and Distress Inks to create framed artwork. Now all he has to do is figure out where to hang it!

Linda Elbourne

I opted for a Configuration this week ... filling it with Corked Vials; Fractured Doll; Ornate Plate; Grungepaper and a few Wendy Vecchi Butterflies. The Configuration is covered with Tim's Crowded Attic paper and Tissue Tape.

Tracy Evans

Tracy's vintage bottle began with a technique from Wendy Vecchi using Glue N' Seal and Clear Rock Candy adding into the mix plenty of butterscotch Alcohol Ink. No bottle is complete without flowers and here they come in the form of Tattered Florals cut from vintage paper and coloured with Distress Ink wild honey. A little more interest has been added with Idea-Ology Foliage and Ornate Plate.

Candy Colwell

Candy employed Wendy Vecchi's Faux Crazed Glass Technique to create these beautiful shabby chic bottles. Matte Glue N Seal followed by Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint gives that beautiful crazed effect. Add some Ranger Archival Ink to create colored glass. Platinum Stickles, Distress Inks, dainty flowers, Glimmer Mist Sprays and some Ideaology elements really add to their charm.

Terry

After some great advice Terry created a card with the fabulous Wendy Vecchi stamps. She adorned Bottle Caps with images and words, used Aged Mahogany Ink and Crackle Distress Paint on her heart and placed a tiny love letter in a Vial Lots of Crackle Distress Paint, Pumice Stone, Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo inks are used on the background, along with Wendy Vecchi Art Part leaves, all finished off with a wonderful Just Flutterby Butterfly.

Ellen took a trip to Studio 490 this week, using Wendy Vecchi's Art Parts to create a piece of wall art. She used these Art Parts: flourish frame, queens and crowns, jar, flower, and scissors; She covered the frame and the base with Basic Grey paper, stamped the Studio 490 script stamp on the frame, finishing with some idea-ology pen nibs and vintage buttons.

Lynne Forsythe

Lynne obviously doesn't know the difference between a bottle and a jar, they are both made outta glass right???!??! she had an idea in her mind of a luminary and just couldn't shake it so she ran with it....Using Wendy Vecchi's AMAZING technique she created the flower and fir sprigs using Clearly for Art ~ WhiteOut, Glue and Seal, Distress Crackle Paint ~ Rock Candy and a generous portion of Alcohol Inks. She cut her flowers using the Mini Tattered Floral and the sprigs from the Tattered Pinecone.

Nancy Wethington

With *bottle it* at this week's theme, Nancy chose to use Graphic 45's An ABC Primer as a starting point. She stamped the little girl image from Primer 1 Cling Stamp Set and then colored her in with Copic Markers before popping her up on the tag. Thinking *reading, writing and 'rithmetic, Nancy bottled one of Tim Holtz Idea-ology pen nibs and then added an Idea-ology Memo Pin with a stamp image from An ABC Primer.

Sarah Engels-Greer

The infamous JPG perfume bottle was a mannequin waiting to happen! Sarah altered her bottle with Pool Alcohol ink, clothed her in Tissue Tape adding colour with Red Pepper Color Wash and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain. Tattered Leaves wings, Idea-ology and a stand created from old clock parts complete her 'Mademoiselle'.

Dan

Dan decided to dig out his supply of Lucky Squirrel clear shrink plastic to complete the cover of his funky mini-journal. After stamping the All Bottled Up stamp with black Archival ink, he coloured them with Promarkers, shrank them and then added some Claudine Hellmuth white paint behind the bottle tops. He stamped the Memory Box blank ticket onto kraft cardstock, mounted it on the cover and then added the bottles and beads strung onto gold wire.

I went for the whole bottled Pixie Dust thang this week ... Lots of Delicious Studio 490 background and flower stamps; Tim Holtz Stamps; Art Parts and Idea-Ology. The roof is made using Grungepaper cut with Tim Holtz's On The Edge Scallop die. The Pixie Dust is captured in a Corked Vial and no house is complete without a few Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Backed Canvas Butterflies die cut using a Movers and Shapers Die and a Dylusion's Spider!

Art Parts Sweetheart Frames was the starting point for Tracy's creation this week to create a piece perfect for someone who has just moved home. Decorated with Artful Dwellings, covered with Metal Foil and embossed with the Postal, and Rays and Retro Circles Texture Fades. Add into the mix plenty of Idea-Ology including Hitch Fasteners, Jump Rings, Plaquette, Accoutrements Buttons, Alpha Parts Newsprint and Ransom, Hinge Clip, Timepiece, Game Spinner, Word Key and Word Stick Charm.

Ellen altered a 6x6 canvas this week, creating her background with distress stains (aged mahogany, crushed olive and picket fence), adding stamps from Tim's new mixed media set and the sentiment from Tim's new words for thought set, stamping different words in different colors. Then she added pen nibs, link chain, the bird adornment, the birdcage, and metal corners to finish off her idea-ology bonanza!

Terry had lots of fun making Tags, and decided to make another one. The background is made with Tissue Tape Sketchbook, layered with Distress Crackle Paint, coloured with Distress inks. On the double layered Grungeboard butterfly Terry used the sentiment from Flights of Fancy with Sprocket Gears and Game Spinners. The flower is made with the Mini Paper Rosettes, the paper from Tim's Vintage Shabby Paperstack and on top an Idea-ology Philosophy Tag.

How many different Idea~ology pieces can be put on one Wendy Vecchi ~ ATC Art??? ....the number is 11!! Sketchbook and Symphony Tissue Tape, Hanger Clips, Jump Rings, Adage Ticket, Timepieces, Baubles, Metal Game Spinners, Hitch Fasteners, Locket Keys and Corners.

Candy Colwell

Candy combined Wendy Vecchi's new stamp set Call It Art, her Scallop Trim Art Parts and her Art Parts Film Strip Frame, Dyan Reaveley's Basic Backgrounds, her new release Word Love stamps, and lots of Tim Holtz' Ideaology to create this week's challenge piece. From the "Off The Hook" Ransom Alpha Parts title to the vintage telephone that is literally off the hook, there are techniques using Embossing Powders, Distress Ink, Crackle Accents, Film Strip Ribbon and much more.

Nancy's latest obsession is burlap and she combined that with Idea-ology to create a canvas celebrating Spring. Tim's Caged Bird die started this project with added Idea-ology embellishments including a hitch fastener and swivel clasp to hang the bird cage. Grungeboard Mini Alphas, Idea-ology foliage and a book plate round out the canvas.

Idea-ology-The Science of Ideas! Not every Cinderella wants glass...so Sarah created an alternative Grungy Steampunk Slipper plated with embossed metal and loaded with Hitch fasteners, Sprockets, Timepieces, Ornate Plates and Regal Wings to name but a few!

Dan

Dan has always loved the idea-ology Ornate Plates and on this project he decided to paint and ink them to give them an antique Swedish feel. The background to each panel was embossed with his Cuttlebug and a Moroccan Screen embossing folder before staining with Antique Linen Distress Stain and then highlighting with Distress Ink. In addition to some photos from the Lost and Found Paper Stack, he added Accoutrement Buttons, a mini pin and a type charm.

I took a 6" X 6" wooden frame and attached lots of Grungeboard Alpha Soup; Some Idea-Ology Corners and a few Game pieces before painting it with Claudine Hellmuth's paint and a Gold Dabber. The centre piece is one of Tim's large circle Fragments with an Idea-Ology Curio Knob to finish.

CHEERIO! Candy chose to spotlight London with her 5x7 canvas. London Underground from Artistic Outpost was the perfect stamp set for this project! A canvas painted in Traditional Tan and washed in Sable Brown Studio Paints is adorned with stamping, transfer techniques, ephemera, Tissue Tape, and Ideaology pieces.

With the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympics there was only one choice for Tracy, it had to be LONDON, using the fabulous London Underground and Loverly London plates from Artistic Outpost to create her door hinged card. Add into the mix plenty of colour from vermillion Archival Ink, brushed corduroy and vintage photo Distress Inks.

Sarah went French a la ATC chunky style using Artistic Outpost's Paris Exposition. She covered each side with torn layers distressed with Vintage Photo ink. The balloons were stamped onto Manilla cardstock swooshed with Stormy Sky and Rusty Hinge Distress Stains, all finished off with metals findings coloured with Alcohol Inks.

Nancy Wethington

Paris is one of Nancy's favorite cities in the world so this tag is an homage to the city of lights. After cutting the cardstock into a large postcard size tag, she stamped images from French Market, Post Card, Curtain Call and a Crafty Secrets sets. With embossing powder, heat gun and iron, Nancy used the blended batik technique found on page 36 in The Compendium of Curiosities book 1.

Say the word Paris and Lynne thinks of the "City of Love"!! She cut her tag and Rosette from Curtain Call. She tore up the edges with the Distrezz it All. Using Embossing Ink, she stamped on the tag then brushed on Forever Red Perfect Pearls. The heart was cut from Clearly For Art Whiteout and covered with Glue and Seal, Distress Crackle Paint ~ Rock Candy and Alcohol Inks.

Terry

Terry decided to make a Tag for the challenge and went for a romantic mood. The background was made with Tim's Alterations Textures Fades Postcards and Sheet Music Set.To create the pinker tones, Terry used Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose and on the borders, Vintage Photo. She used Tim's French Market and played with The Journey for her sentiment.

Ellen Vargo

Ellen had no trouble coming up with a "London" project this week. She started with a 4 x 4 shadow box and covered it with paper from the 6x6 Paddington papers from 7 Gypsies. She added a Maya Road chipboard frame to the center, with a photo actually taken in London! Added some London embellishments and a curio knob to the top. A quick and easy memento of a great day spent with a great friend.

I went with Paris and Chip. Of course you can't do Paris without Tim's Shabby French Stamps and some Graphic 45 Curtain Call. The butterflies are Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Backed Canvas and the butterflies are Tim's Mover and Shaper.

Dan's original plan was to make a London-themed piece, but at the last minute he switched to Paris, it must be the croissant he had for breakfast! He used Tim Holtz's I See Paris and Creative Textures stamp sets, along with Distress Stains, Distress Ink pads and sections from the Lost and Found and Kraft Resist card stacks.

Dan is really enjoying playing around with Claudine Hellmuth's paints right now, and "anything goes" gave him the perfect excuse to get good and messy! Other products he used included the Numero, Winged Things 2 and Psychedelic Grunge stamp sets

Ellen decided to get "Dylusional" this week! She used Ranger's paint dabbers for almost the entire tag, She scraped paint onto the tag for the background (raspberry, pool and snow cap), stamped with paint and Dylusions stamps for some accents, and then stamped some Dylusions images on white card stock and colored in with watered down paint. Stamped the spider/web and sentiment with jet black archival ink.

Tracy decided to liven things up a little this week with a few bright colours from Distress Stains spiced marmalade, fired brick and mustard seed along with funky images from Dylusions in the form of Love Struck Lucy, Around The Edge, How Does Your Garden Grow and Basic Backgrounds stamp sets. A little texture from Gesso and Tracy's tag accordion is good to go!

Anything goes....well Lynne took this at face value. She collected some supplies, Gesso, Multi Medium, Distress Stain, Perfect Pearls Mist, Archival Ink ~ Sepia and Jet Black, an acrylic paint mixture, Altered Orange and Traditional Tan and a few non~traditional supplies, dictionary paper, cardboard, toilet paper roll, plastic grocery bag and ooooohhhh the fun she had!! Join her and play along!!!

Nancy Wethington

Nancy chose one of her favorite tried-and-true Tim background techniques: ink and flick. Here she used Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Weathered Wood and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks, blending colors onto a manila tag. Next, Nancy stamped the saying from Urban Tapestry onto a piece of transparency (similar to this one) with black Staz-On. Resin flowers, a Tim hinge clip and vintage lace were added to the tag.

Candy decided to dip her toes into the Dylusional waters this week by creating her first Dylusional tag. Using a combination of the uber talented Dyan Reaveley's Stamp Sets; Candy created this colorful and whimsical tag. Color Wash bathes the background and all of the detail work is done using a Small Sakura Water Brush and Distress Reinkers.

To Sarah, 'Anything Goes' is a chance to let the imagination run free. She made a girl's dress, sewn using Tim's Tissue Wrap aged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. She stamped the dress with Papillon butterflies, added an Idea-ology Ornate plate to the belt before finishing off with a buttoned back and home-made wire coat-hanger.

Terry

Terry decided to make a box and matching bag with lots of hearts, since she loves hearts. The background of both are worked on with Gesso and Distress Inks. The hearts on the box and the wings are from the Grungeboard set from The Tim, lots of crackle paint is used on the lid of the box, the lace with hearts is worked on with Tattered Rose and VictiorianVelvet and Vintage Photo and the sentiment is from The Tim's Philosophy Tags.

I have the journalling bug good and proper ... so I used the Anything Goes theme to make a mini journal! I coloured the cover with Frayed Burlap Distress Stain and added Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges. The stamps I used were Tim Holtz Shabby French and Odds and Ends. The pages are all Ranger Manilla Cardstock ... which is my favourite surface to ink on.

Hello Everybody! First things first ... The bad news ... Sadly, we have to say goodbye to Linda Coughlin ... Linda has lots of other exciting projects to work on so she has decided to step down from the Design Team. I am sure you will join us in wishing Linda the best of everything in her new ventures and Thanking her for her wonderful inspiration each week.
Secondly ... The Good news is ... The Simon Says Stamp team is expecting a new addition ... we are delighted that the wonderful Sarah is expecting a baby. I am sure I can speak for all of you as well as the team in wishing many many congratulations to Sarah and her husband. Sarah may need to move a bit further away from her craft sheet in the coming months but we are thrilled that she is retaining her place on the team.

It's been quite a while since Dan last made an art doll, so he took the opportunity to add that element into his recipe for this project! Products he used included the Artistic Collages and Royal Script stamp sets, Vintage Photo Distress Ink and the Kraft Resist Card Stack.

Tracy Evans

Tracy decided on decorating an old vintage tin for this weeks piece. Torn Edges check, in the form of torn vintage papers from on old book. Distress Inks check, in the form of brushed corduroy and vintage photo. Button check, from Tim's Accoutrements Buttons. Wings check, using the Heart Wings die. With a little help from Wendy Vecchi from A Form Of Art and It's Face Art, along with the Sewing Room die and Gadget Gears die.

Candy Colwell

Hmmm...a recipe. Candy created this brightly colored and fun dimensional canvas using a mixture of various "liquid ingredients" including Distress Stains, Archival Inks, Studio Paints, Matte Multi Medium and Glimmer Mist Sprays. Add some "dry ingredients" including torn book pages, buttons, Tim Holtz and Dyan Reaveley Stamps; mix well, form into a collage and heat to dry. Wha-Lah!!

Lynne Forsythe

On one of Lynne's travels she came across some ATC canvas's and scoffed them up, wishing now she had bought more. She tore up pieces of dictionary paper and adhered it with Multi Medium. She dabbed on some Dusty Concord, Broken China and Victorian Velvet Distress Stain. When dry she layered on some Gesso. The Butterfly is made from CFA WhiteOut and other wonderful goodies!!!

Sarah Engels-Greer

Sarah fancied a little fabric frenzy! She used Wendy Vecchi's Nature's Art, Ranger Archival Inks and canvas to create stamped fabric. She drew a template, cut lots of birdy layers and stitched them together before distressing and inking the edges. Their stamped Tattered Florals bonnets are embellished with buttons, all finished off with three little words.

Nancy Wethington

This Valentine's gift bag was inked with Fired Brick and Vintage Photo Distress Inks then die cut with Tim's On The Edge Doily Die. Grungeboard wings were added to a dollar store heart doily before inking with more Distress Ink and spritzing with a mix of water and Perfect Pearls *Pearl* Pigment Powder. A friendship stamp tops off the heart and wings.

Ellen Vargo

Ellen went "Dylusional" this week, taking a tag with a painted background and adding images from Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions stamp line, colored in with distress inks. Then she added vintage buttons to the circle border, and a sentiment to the back of a torn journaling ticket by Tim Holtz.

For my tag I used Tim Holtz Shabby French stamps; Tim's Sewing Room die and lots of Distress Stains and Distress Inks... Not forgetting the Shrink Plastic ... which is always a whole lot of fun!

Terry decided to take her Recipe all the way to The Wendy Vecchi....she made a wallhanger and decorated inside and out. She worked with the Just Flutterby Butterfly from Wendy and her big Sis Just Fly, they have torn edges and are distressed. The wallhanger is worked on with Forest Moss, Rusty Hinge , Weathered Wood ,Vintage Photo and offcourse Crackle Clear Rock Candy and Distress Crackle Paint. The sentiment is from The Wendy's Studio 490 Dreams of Art. On each corner she placed buttons to finish her project.

Linda altered a box left over from Christmas using Tim Holtz's Mini Love Struck for her winged things and tore and pieced his Tissue Wrap for her torn edges. Plenty of Old Paper and Vintage Photo distress inks were used to give her piece a vintage look and feel. Other products used included Picket Fence Distress Stain, Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium Matte and the Mini Paper Rosette die.

Whoever gets Dan's card is certainly going to feel like they're king for a day! Dan stamped his king on a range of different patterned papers which he had first "knocked back" with a couple of layers of Picket Fence Distress Stain. He also used the Winged Things 2 stamp set and pages from the Lost and Found and Seasonal card stacks.

As soon as Tracy saw this theme she knew she wanted to use the It's Face Art and Art Fit For A Queen sets by Wendy Vecchi to create her QUEEN theme along with a Large Flourish Frame. A torn paper background and a little colouring from Distress Inks broken china and wild honey bring this piece to life.

Ellen went royal Wendy Vecchi style this week, using Studio 490 art parts: queens and crowns, wings and leaves, as well as stamps from Studio 490, and the mini crown adornment from Tim Holtz as eyelashes! All the inks used were distress inks.

"Magic" features various techniques using Distress Stains. How about a magic card trick using the King and Queen (and Jack) from Tim Holtz' Poker Face Texture Trades? The clowns from Tim Holtz' The Big Top stamp set are colored using a small Sakura Water Brush and adding Scattered Straw, Barn Door, Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey Distress Stains.

Every "QUEEN" should have a crown! Lynne created her's using the Distressed Doily Die and Kraft Resist paper, lathered on Picket Fence Distress Stain and sprinkled it with Fairy Dust. As she is the "QUEEN" of all things flowers....her crown must be adorned with Mini Tattered Florals with Pearl centers!

Nancy Wethington

Kings and Queens got Nancy thinking about upcoming Fat Tuesday & Mardi Gras. So she turned to an image from Tim's Crowded Attic paper pack and created a card that will accompany a King cake to a friend's house. The images were painted with Crackle Accents and the King was captured in a Memory Frame before adding a crown charm.

Sarah Engels-Greer

Sarah created an inky ode to love with her Queen of Hearts canvas. She painted the background with Vintage Photo and Wild Honey Distress Stains before adding Rock Candy Crackle Paint. The hearts are made from embossed Ranger Foil Tape, are splattered with Alcohol Inks before being adorned with findings and Idea-ology.

Terry made a candle booklet.The front is worked on with Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Forest Moss and Rusty Hinge. She made the Queen with the Embossing folder from The Tim Holtz and the Crown is made from Grungeboard and worked on with Crackle Distress Paint and Distress inks.

Linda made a fun little tag featuring wheeled things and a king of spades cut from Kraft-Core Core'dinations and embossed with Tim's Poker Face Texture Fade. Her label was cut with the Styled Labels die and the Crackle Accents coated letters were cut from with the Vintage Market die.

I decided to make Tim Holtz's Mona my queen and I turned her into desk thingie! Lots of Studio 490 Art Parts, Idea-Ology and Fired Brick Distress Stickles for Mona's crown. Don't you just love the Artistic Outpost London Underground stamps ... I know Mona is n't a Brit ... but the Union Jack always makes me think of the Queen and the sentiment is perfect for my desk!

For his song, Dan chose the original version of "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" from Evita, by Barbara Dickson. To transform the chipboard suitcase that he's had kicking around in a drawer for a couple of years, products he used included Traditional Tan paint by Claudine Hellmuth, the I See Paris, Artistic Collages and Creative Muse stamp sets, and Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse is Tracy's song title choice represented by a black heart box decorated with hearts from Wendy Vecchi's Love To Make Art set. Coupled with a little foliage from the Tattered Pinecone and a flower from the Tattered Florals die and a key embellishment from Tim's Idea-ology Locket Keys.

Candy chose a classic song title, "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" for her fun 6x6 chipboard dimensional piece. Marilyn is all decked out in her designer Tim Holtz Dress Form made from Charcoal Black and Painterly Pink Studio Paints and Glam Pink Stickles. Add some Star Dust Stickles on Alpha Part "Diamonds" on top of a Harlequin background.

Ellen's chose the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. She did a tag using kraft resist paper, aged mahogany distress stain, gadget gears, crackle paint, various idea-ology, and the "imagination" stamp, all by Tim Holtz. Wouldn't the world be great if that song were true.... alas, we can only "imagine".

Sarah couldn't resist her jazz favourite, Frank's "Fly Me to the Moon" and created a new 'slant' on the song! She used Wendy Vecchi Art Parts including the Sample Pack, Pocket Watch and For the Guys. Her Steampunk fellow is flying high with light-bulb and Idea-ology wings and the whole lunar journey is set inside an old picture frame.

Lynne is still in the Valentines mood.....a little Black Gesso, some Forever Red Perfect Pearls Mist, Fired Brick Distress Stickles and the Mini Harlequin template are the perfect backdrop for the canvas embossed heart.

"Cupid, draw back your bow and let your arrow go" by Sam Cooke is the song Linda was inspired by for her piece this week. And she was humming it as she created this sweet Valentine's Day home decor piece using lots of Tim Holtz goodies including the Paper Rosette, Love Stuck and Tattered Pinecones dies. Other products used include Picket Fence Distress Stain, Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint and Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE).

Terry's favourite song is "Happiness" by Alexis Jordan so she made a Tag with lots of Happiness. The background is worked on with Tim's Embossing folder, is heat-embossed and uses lots of Distress Inks. The sentiments are from Artistic Outpost, the Butterfly from The Wendy and lots of roses are worked on with Rock Candy Crackle Paint. To finish, Terry added lace at the bottom and underneath the image.

This weeks theme was a great opportunity for Tracy to use the Timely Pocket Watch Art Parts, coloured with Distress Stain aged mahogany and stamped with the stripes from Art Fit For A Queen using StazOn black ink. Paper from BoBunny Timepiece Collection was added to the inside of the pocket watch with a little dimension added from the Weathered Clock die. Throw in a little Clear Rock Candy for texture and Gadget Gears for a little more interest. The handsome gent in the middle is from Studio 490 So Serious, coupled with embellishments in the form of a Timepiece and Game Spinners.

Sarah altered an electrical socket box with Alcohol Ink to create a Metal Shrine of Love for Valentine's Day! Her painted Grungepaper roses are made with the Tattered Florals Die and stamped with Stuff to Say. Ruler Ribbon, Charm Clip and Trinket Pin touches of Idea-ology finish her alternative idea to a card!

Now that the "holidays" are over.....it's time to be looking ahead to the next one! "HEART" day! She pulled out an old used canvas, applied some Black Gesso, misted on some Aged Mahogany Distress Reinker, when dry she dabbed on some Aged Mahogany Distress Stickles. Using the left over's from last week she diecut a heart and misted it with Aged Mahogany Distress Reinker and inked edges with Vintage Photo. Do you see the District Market Tissue Wrap.........mmmmm love that stuff!

Dan's framed art piece may be many things, but it's certainly not a card! Although the photo doesn't really show it too well, there is a lot of depth to his piece, which is why he used a shadow frame for it. Products he used include the Artful Artifacts and Numero stamp sets, and Claudine Hellmuth acrylic paints.

Candy decided to do something outside of her comfort zone by using a White Opaque Pen to highlight the art work on her project. This colorful "visionary" #8 Tag features various Distress Ink Colors and is stamped with images from Wendy Vecchi's An Eye For Art and Art Parts Stamp sets.

Ellen decided to go mini this week and made at ATC (Artist Trading Card). She used alcohol inks on every element including Ranger Metal Foil Tape embossed with a texture fade folder, Tim Holtz' fragments, and various idea-ology!

Nancy Wethington

Nancy loves this Maya Road ATC Stand so she used that to interpret this week's theme. The perfect size for small photos and desktop, this adorable mini stand is filled with chipboard hearts, flowers and family photos.

Terry decided to go for Valentines Day and altered an "old" egg-shaped chocolate box. She used Gesso on the outside and lots of Red tinted Distress inks. She worked with a little bit of The Tim, a little bit of The Wendy and a lot of herself (LOL) The hearts are worked on with lots of Rock Candy Crackle Paint and Crackle Distress Paint. On top she placed a Just Fly Butterfly.

Linda Coughlin

Linda's tag uses the tissue paper technique from Tim Holtz's tag #12 from this year's Christmas tags. It was stamped with Fabulous Flourishes and tissue paper was stamped with the Sheet Music stamp. Picket Fence Distress Stain and Rock Candy Distress Stickles were also used on the tag. The oval double rosette was cut from crinoline with the Mini Rosette die and the bottom strip was cut with the Vintage Lace die.

I started off with a block of wood to make this chunky ATC. I had a wonderful time playing with the Graphic 45 Le Cirque 8X8 papers and Le Cirque stamps. I also used Tim's On The Edge Pennant die and my ProMarkers.

Simon Says Stamp and Show a Red Letter Day!

Following a search on Google, Tracy found that red letter day originated from the practice of marking the dates of church festivals on calendars in red. The term came into wider use in 1549 when the first Book Of Common Prayer included a calendar with holy days marked in red ink, these dates were designated in the book as a red-letter day. Red letter day today is also known as a gift experience. With this in mind Tracy tried to incorporate both into her card using Tim's Air Travel set to represent the gift experience, a flight being the experience or the journey. Dates highlighted in red were used taken from the Odds and Ends set along with the sentiment stamped in red using vermillion Archival Ink . A dashing gentlemen from the Steampunk set has been added to a bottle cap and a little embossing using clear embossing powder for dimension. Copper brads and a Blue Moon metal charm token add a little more interest to the card.

When she thinks of Red Letter Day.....she thinks of the day one is born......THE BEST DAY EVER!! So, she created this ATC to commemorate such a WONDERFUL day!! The base of her ATC is a piece of cardboard, which she dipped in water, then ran through an embossing folder. She then painted it with acrylic paint, she then sanded it, inked it, spritzed it. The chipboard topper was colored using Distress Ink and then spritzed. The wooden lock was painted then inked. The flowers were made from toilet paper, paper towels and watercolor paper colored with various Distress Stains and Reinker Mixtures.

Nancy took this challenge both figuratively and literally. With Tim's birthday this past weekend, Nancy created a birthday card featuring District Market Advert paper and Mini Cirque Alphabets. Fired Brick Distress Embossing Powder along with Distress Embossing Ink were used for the letters. Edges were distressed with a Tonic Edge Distresser and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Candy's RED LETTER DAY is something that really impacted the world; VJ Day, September 2, 1945-the official end of World War II. In her nostalgic dimensional 6x6 piece, Candy recreated the excitement of that day. Her "tin type" background using a Metal Foil Sheet is embellished with a Tim Holtz' Pocket Watch, complete with a mini Pacific Rim Map from his Crowded Attic Paper Stash and "1945" created from the Newsprint Alpha Parts covered in Glossy Accents. See the little film reel? That began as two gears from Tim Holtz' Mini Gears die cut, gear ends cut off and then heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. Add a little dowel rod and Tim's Film Strip Ribbon and you've got a vintage film reel! The elaborate bunting began with Tim Holtz' Medium side rosette from the Mini Paper Rosettes die cut.

When Terry heard about the RED LETTER DAY, she didn't know what it meant, but after some amazing teamies explained it to her she made a tag and took the theme LITERALLY. She made a tag using a wonderful image of a little girl. She used Crackle Paint Rock Candy and distressed the borders with the Paper distresser. The background of the Tag was done a Tim Holtz technique from the 12 Tags of Christmas... She used a Tim Holtz embossing folder, then embossed almost the whole tag with Copper Embossing powder. The flowers were worked on with Crackle Paint Rock Candy and everything is distressed with Forest Moss, Bundled Sage, Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo. The sentiment was made using Barn Door and rewritten with the Spica Glitter Marker.

Ellen interpreted red letter day as a day worthy of remembrance, and decided to create a simple tag to remember her Dad. She printed an old photo of her Dad on Neenah white card stock (isn't that old jalopy awesome?), adhered it to the a #8 manila tag with multi medium matte, and added some alpha parts to "remember" him by. She used a pearl pen to add the black dots between the numbers in the date, and to highlight 'dad' at the bottom. Added some brushed corduroy distress ink to the edges to add to the vintage feel, and some ribbon to top it off.

Linda Coughlin

Linda is in a Valentine's Day frame of mind and "red letter" made her think of a love letter. She created a wall hanging based on that using stamps from Tim Holtz's Urban Grunge and Crafty Secret's Rosy Wishes embossed with Ranger Superfine Gold Embossing Powder. The Tattered Florals and Elegant Flourishes dies were used to create the embellishments and her filigree metal corner was heat embossed with white embossing powder and then sanded to give it a worn enamel appearance.

Sarah Engels-Greer

Lots of birthdays this month means many circled calender dates, so Sarah went for an all metal take on that elusive subject 'The Male Card'. She also wanted to pay a little birthday tribute to Mr. Tim with oodles of Idea-ology. Her Steampunk Gent lives a Memory Frame suspended from a flying Timepiece and is layered across the Weathered Clock, made with corrugated cardboard and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to create an old wooden effect. It also returns inside the card with a well-loved Tim phrase.

Dan

Dan is mindful that Valentine's Day is creeping ever closer, so he chose that to be his red letter day for this week's challenge! He started by painting his base card with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Acrylic Paint in sable brown, blank canvas and dash of red, which he applied with a Ranger Craft Scraper. Stamps he used were drawn from the Royal Script, From the Heart, Floral Tattoo and Odds and Ends sets.

I began with a literal meaning when I first started making this journal ... then I thought ... how nice would this be as a present with some tickets to a London attraction? To assemble the book I used my Bind it all with some Red 1" wires and to decorate I used Artistic Outpost London Underground; Ranger Archival Ink in Crimson; Vintage Photo Distress Ink; Tim Holtz Vintage Market Strip Die and some truly scrumptious Blue Moon Charms.

Tracy Evans

An old vintage tin for Tracy's something old, coloured with Alcohol Inks raisin and rust, creating a little steampunk piece using images from Tim Holtz Steampunk set. Something new being a new stamp, Tim's Synchronicity stamp, a perfect addition for a little steampunk, with the addition of Spockets and Game Spinner. Wendy's images also play a part in this piece in the form of the Steampunk Art set along with background image from Tim's Grunge Cirque set. A little background colour from Distress Ink aged mahogany and the inside is complete.

Lynne Forsythe

With the new year upon us, it's a time to ponder on the past year and to look ahead to the new beginning!! Lynne's not one for resolutions, so this year she's created a monthly goal art journal. She dug into her stash for something old....Magic Mesh, ATC pages and a piece of vintage lace. For new things....she used a Berry Vine wood flourish colored with Peeled Paint Distress Stain. The Super Mega Bottle Cap with an ATC in the background, filled in with Crackle Accents and accented with flowers. With the Chicken Wire template she spritzed the cover with Vintage Photo Reinker mixture and Forever Red Perfect Pearls. She bound her whole album with her Bind it All.

Candy Colwell

When Candy saw the first challenge of the new year is "Something Old, Something New"; she immediately thought of weddings. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. So, she decided to mimic those beautiful ornate cabinet card pages from vintage photo albums to create a "vintage" wedding frame. She began with Tim Holtz' Vintage Cabinet Card and Small Easel die cuts. She used Tim's Fabulous Flourishes and Queen's Gold Embossing Powder to recreate the beautiful ornate matting. She added Tim's Distressed Doily and his Tattered Pine Cones; which are not pine cones but sweetheart roses, a Tattered Flower and greenery die cut from Tim's Tattered Flowers, and a embellished Rosette to complete her beautiful "vintage" wedding frame.

Nancy Wethington

A 20 year old tin that was originally intended for counted cross stitch is paired with Teresa Collins World Traveler and Tim's rosette dies. In addition to making rosettes, Nancy used the mini paper rosette dies to encircle the candles. The Journey stamp set decorates the center heart. You may want to visit Nancy's blog to see close-ups of each of the 3 heart collages.

Sarah Engels-Greer

After lots of tinsel, turkey and indulgence, Sarah was in the mood for spring colours and stress free crafting. She took an old wooden photo frame and covered it using Design paper from My Mind's Eye Gertie Range edged with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. She added Art Parts leaves painted with Claudine Hellmuth paint, two Just Fly butterflies from Wendy Vecchi and finished off with a sentiment and vintage buttons.

Terry

When Terry heard the new theme for this weeks challenge she immediatley thought of Love.....and 2012.....so she made A Love gift bag to start the NEW YEAR with lots of love.....she used an "old" bag and altered it with a lovely image from a girl, worked on her with Crackle Paint Rock Candy just like the rose. Underneith the image she used a heart shaped doily. The papers that she used are from Graphic 45 Baby and Bride. She distressed everything with Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and Worn Lipstick.

Ellen Vargo

Ellen decided to incorporate antique hardware, key and pin for her "something old" with new art parts by Studio 490 and a quote from the "Twilight" book. She started with the large heart frame, coloring the top frame with brushed corduroy distress stain and stamping with the script stamp, then added the art part leaf/scroll, coloring with crushed olive distress stain, and stamping with forest moss distress ink and embossing that with clear embossing powder. Added some antique findings along with some new, and stamped the quote with a mini alpha set .

Dan

Dan's "old" part of this project was an individual configurations element he had left over from a project he made a long while back. The "new" was some of Tim Holtz's recent limited edition Distress Ink pads. Products he used included the Psychedelic Grunge, Creative Textures, School Desk, Spills and Splatters and The Big Top stamp sets. He also used Gathered Twigs and Festive Berries Distress Inks and some Claudine Hellmuth Gesso.

Linda Coughlin

Linda used lots of her favorite oldies (Fabulous Flourishs stamp, Elegant Flourishs die, Tag and Bookplates die, LOVE stamp from Stuff to Say, Picket Fence distress crackle paint) on this project, but her "old" highlights are the four wonderful vintage buttons sent to her recently by a friend. Her "new" is the tattered rose created with her newly acquired Tattered Pinecone die and the seam binding dyed just for this project with a blend of Aged Mahogony and Tattered Rose distress inks.

I decided to take an old project and revamp it with some new! My wall hanger is made using Maya Road Chip; Vintage Photo Distress Inks and Oodles of Studio 490 Stamps that just happen to be old friends of mine! The flowers are all made from Grungepaper ... and there it is ... Something Old with Some New!

Ellen Vargo

Ellen had a blast making this Tim Holtz inspired Christmas themed tag. She used Christmas kraft resist paper, the tags and bookplates Sizzix die and winter seasonal distress inks for the base of her tag, then added an ornate plate with stamping from Christmas mini 3 stamp set, adding rock candy crackle paint on the greeting. Then she cut the pine tree out of grungeboard, used peeled paint and walnut stain distress stains to color the tree, and added diamond dust on the branches using art glitter glue.

Tracy Evans

Tracy has not had chance to join in with the 12 tags of Christmas so this was her ideal opportunity to indulge in a little tag creativity, creating a tag accordion. Each tag has a little inspiration from Tim thrown in for good measure using many of the Alterations dies including Winter Wonder, Reindeer Flight, Carved Ornaments, Tag & Bookplate, along with the Mini Reindeer & 25, and Joy.

Nancy Wethington

Nancy was having so much fun creating Christmas tags she just couldn't stop at one. The tag on the left uses Ice Resin on 7 Gypsies tissue collage paper to create the background before adding a Spellbinders die and a stamped image from Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium stamp set. The image was colored with pencils before adding *snow* to the little girl's outfit.

Candy Colwell

Candy has created three tags to share with you. Her first tag was inked with Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Picket Fence Distress Stains and dry embossed using Tim's Tall Pines Texture Fade embossing folder. Add some Snow, some Tim Holtz Reindeer, Tim's Newsprint Alpha Parts distressed with a Gold Paint Dabber, and you have "PEACE". The traditional Christmas tag in the center features a background stamped with images from Tim's Holiday Minis and inked using his new Winter Seasonal Distress Inks plus Scattered Straw then topped with Pearl Perfect Pearl Mist. Her Crackled Snowman tag on the right is dry embossed with Tim's Vintage Holiday Texture Fade.

Lynne Forsythe

Lynne created her own tag by using a piece of paper from Tim's ~ Kraft Resist Paper and the Tag and Bookplate die. Using Distress Embossing Ink and White UTEE, she created the snowflakes. With Picket Fence and Faded Jeans Distress Stains, she covered the tag. Next, she inked up her music stamp with Black Soot and stamped the tag. She followed the instructions from Tim's Kraft Glassine video, and created the leaves using Meadow and Lettuce Alcohol inks, Gold Mixative and Blending Solution.

Sarah Engels-Greer

Sarah created two festive tags inspired by Mr. Tim and sprinkled them with a little Wendy Vecchi magic. She used her Red Pepper, Snow Cap and Pool Paint Dabbers and an array of crafting goodies including the Seasonal Silhouettes stamps, Grungeboard Letters, Art Parts, Idea-ology and scrumpled Kraft Glassine paper flowers...and even gave Rudolph a bit of bling on his nose!

Terry

Terry made several tiny tags and one huge one.... She used The Tim's newest Winter Edition Distress Inks, embossed the background with the Stars folder and then embossed the stars with white embossing powder. For decoration she used some pine-cones and a self-made strip underneath.The pine-cones were worked on with an Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber, the stamp set is Tim's Season's Silhouettes and Gold Stickles was used on the sentiment. Linda Coughlin

Linda was inspired by Tim's #10 tag featuring a vintage Santa image and a fragment charm. She broke out her new Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks and used the Festive Greenery, Styled Labels and Hardware Findings dies. She stamped the Believe stamp from Tim Holtz's Holiday Minis set into hot gold embossing. A few smears of gesso finished her tag off.

Dan

Although Dan usually colours with Promarkers, for this tag he decided to return to a favourite technique he hadn't used in a while - painting with a waterbrush. Santa from Tim Holtz's Letter to Santa stamp set was coloured using Distress Stains in Barn Door and Peeled Paint, with some Tattered Rose on his face and then layered on top of a panel from the Seasonal paper stash. Finally, as a finishing touch, Dan added a Chain Tassel and an Accoutrement Button!

Linda Elbourne

I wanted to move away from my usual Christmas Colours so I went for Tumbled Glass Distress Stain; Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearl Mist. All the elements of my tag are Tim Holtz including the adorable Christmas Muse Tokens apart from the Fired Brick coloured Holly ... which is from Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 Card Art Essentials.

Tracy Evans

As soon as Tracy knew this weeks challenge was projects with depth she really wanted to decorate a configuration box, something she had not had chance to do for a while. She decided on a Christmas configuration coloured with Distress Stain Vintage Photo and decorated with papers from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas paper pad. Tracy had great fun decorating each area with Christmas finds along with the use of the Reindeer Flight die, The Tattered Pinecone Die, and The Pine Tree. JOY was added using Grunge Blocks along with a mini Christmas tree and sleigh. Small frames were decorated with images from the Seasonal Salvage Stickers and a Christmas Muse Token and several vintage finds.

Ellen Vargo

Ellen went all out with a configuration box this week. She started with a medium configurations, and rather than leaving all the boxes inside the frame, she took 4 out and attached them on either side. She used christmas kraft resist paper, tissue tape, and 7 gypsies antique brass corners to line and wrap the piece. Then filled it with lots of yummy knick-knacks (many of which she "borrowed" from her hubby's model train pieces!). Other elements used were: corked vials altered with butterscotch alcohol ink, optical lens, wreath from christmas adornments, xmas red stickles, ornate plate, WISH stamp, mini old jalopy, bingo piece, seasonal salvage stickers, and melissa frances glass glitter.

Candy Colwell

This weeks' dimensional theme is perfect for Candy's creation...a sparkly sleigh for Santa. The base of the sleigh is a 2x3 Configuration Box compartment colored with a Cranberry Paint Dabber. Santa's chair dons a beautiful vintage Santa from Tim's Seasonal Pape r Stash. The sparkly runners for Santa's sleigh are courtesy of the Vintage Noel die cut. The sparkly top of Santa's chair is from Tim's Vintage Lace die cut. All that festive sparkle is courtesy of Martha Stewart's White Gold Glitter. Some Tim Holtz Trimmings, Mini Holiday St amp Sets, Silver Embossing Power and Platinum Stickles help to put the perfect finishing touches on Santa's Magical Sleigh.

Dan

Dan has been watching a lot of Christmas movies lately to get himself into the holiday spirit and was inspired to make this 3D diorama card after watching "The Polar Express"! He made his swirling winter sky with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints in Charcoal Black, Smidge of Blue, Sky Blue and Blank Canvas, before adding snowflakes with a Ranger Opaque White Pen. White Enamel Accents was used for the snow on his tree branches and Rock Candy Stickles added a touch of bling to his snowflakes. The frame was coloured with Distress Ink pads in Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass and the Santa from the Holiday Wishes stamp set was coloured with Promarkers.

Nancy Wethington

These little 7 Gypsies trays were calling Nancy's name as was the new Simple Stories Year-O-Graphy papers. With both in hand, Nancy created a birthday calendar. The birth date would be highlighted on each month's calendar with a photo of the honoree in a Tim H oltz ornate plate. The calendars from the Simple Stories collection were cut and then put together with the help of a Zutter Bind-It-All. A Kaiser Craft wood branch along with a 7 Gypsies bottle and sticker adds to the overall theme of a precious life. A Tim Holtz memo pin marks the occasion.

Lynne Forsythe

This was Lynne's first time outta the shoot with a Configurations Box!! She had to admit it was a bit intimidating but she dove in....and never looked back! She chose to theme her box around Christmas and snow!! She gathered up old and new doo dads to include the wooden snowflake and ruler piece, a clear bottle and some bakers twine. Everything was adhered in and onto the box with Multi Medium....the best dang stuff in the world!!!

Sarah created a dimensional hanging star inspired by Tim's seventh tag with Glassine Paper leaves and Joyful Song Stamps. She used lots of her favourite techniques and products including Ranger Metal Tape, Alcohol Inks, and the Textile embossing folder. Sarah aged the stamped centre with Rock Candy Crackle and Distress Ink and finished off her star with vintage lace and two hat pins.

Terry

Terry was experimenting with the Configuration Box and teasing her teamies a bit but at the last minute she decided to create a Vintage Steampunk Configuration box. She used Tim's Configuration Box and Tissue Tape on top of the box. The papers used for the background are from Graphic 45, Steampunk Debutant. The compartments were filled with The Tim's Sprocket Gears, Timepieces, Spinners, 7 Gypsies Clear Bottles and everything was distressed with Distress Inks from the Winter Limited Editon, Forest Moss, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo. Terry played with Rock Candy Crackle Paint and Picket Fence Crackle Paint on the Box top and front and the stamps are from The Tim Holtz Seamless Experience set.

For her dimensional project, Linda took the plunge into the configurations box scene with her first ever configurations box. She featured a collection of sweet shabby/vintage style items. She used Tim Holtz dies: Tattered Florals, Tattered Pinecone, Reindeer Flight and Festive Greenery. Other products used include Spellbinder Scallop Square Nestabilities, Snow Flurries embossing folder and gold glass glitter.

I set to work on the largest Configuration ... I covered it with Tissue Tape and a mixture of Lost and Found and The Seasonal Paper Stack. All the papers were distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Stickles. The final sample is packed to the rafters with Idea-Ology including Corked Vials; Light Bulbs and an Ornate Plate.

Tracy decided to decorate one of Wendy's Timely Pocket Watches, adorned with Tim's Timepieces and Game Spinners. Tracy used the gentlemen from Tim's Steampunk set to decorate the inside of the pocket watch, stamped onto paper from BoBunny's Timepiece collection. The pocket watch was coloured with Distress Stain Aged Mahogany and stamped with the background stamp from Tim's Steampunk set.

Ellen decided to make a Christmas project for this week's "elements of time" challenge. She started with the art parts pocket watches (both large and small) and embellished with paper from seasonal paper stack, rock candy crackle paint, weathered clock die, black and gold paint dabbers, idea-ology gears, Christmas muse token, "25" plaquette, a distressed timepiece, some antique brass chain, a rhinestone brad from Jennie Bowlin, and an antique brass key (eBay find...). And of course, stamped the sentiment with her mini alpha set.

Nancy's favorite colors to work with are shades of red, golden yellows and black mixed with cream so she turned to Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 for this week's challenge. She began with an 8x8 Canvas which she painted with Jenni Bowlin Stick Candy. The Circa 1934 paper was adhered to the canvas then Nancy started layering the cardstock stickers on top of that before adding a real pocket watch hanging from a hitch fastener and swivel clasp to create this office-type desk/shelf clock.

Candy Colwell

Candy decided to try to incorporate more than just clocks into her "Elements of Time" piece. After all, isn't time measured not only by clocks but by calendars and photographs? So, she created a dimensional cuckoo clock from left over Configuration Box compartments; covered in clock faces from Tim's Lost and Found Paper Stash and edged with the Calendar Tissue Tape. Her piece is dripping with Ideaology used to embellish her altered cuckoo, Time Pieces, Vials, Ornate Plates and Mini Gear die cuts. A filmstrip ribbon depicting important milestones (and elements of time) in Candy's life graces the top.

Terry

Terry decided to try out the Pocket Watch from The Tim Holtz... What a fabulous way to make Christmas scenery, especially creating SANTA'S watch! She altered a Vintage Santa with Distress Inks and used the Sprocket Gears and Game Spinners inside the Pocket Watch. Santa is holding a Timepiece to let everyone know that it's almost time for Christmas. Terry also added some snow and Stickles inside the Pocket Watch to make it look like the North-pole.

Lynne Forsythe

Lynne was inspired by Christmas Past invoked by the Christmas Emporium Collection by Graphic 45, which she cut and layered inside of the Pocket Watch. She added various Stickles to help the image pop. To accent her "Timepiece" she stamped Merry Christmas onto some seam binding with Jet Black Archival Ink and heat set. She then spritzed it with Barn Door and Aged Mahogany. And how about the zipper pieces down the side of her Black Tag??

Sarah Engels-Greer

From empty Configurations Box to vintage cabinet! Sarah's flying Gents reside in three Pocket Watches trimmed with Ball Chain and Sprockets, have Idea-ology wings for a little time travel and are suspended from Swivel Clasps. The cabinet is lined with torn pages and Elements of Time return in the die-cut Weathered Clocks and Ruler Ribbon. Distress Stains and Rock Candy Crackle Paint create an antique wooden look, finished off with Idea-ology Time Pieces and metal findings.

Linda Coughlin

The Tim Holtz Pocket Watch Texture Fade, Idea-ology Time Pieces and the Holy Branch die were the Elements of Time Linda used for her time tag. She thought the quote from the Wendy Vecchi Seriously Art set tied in perfectly with her game spinner pointing to midnight and the end/beginning of another day.

Dan chose to decorate this compartmentalised shadow frame with designs from the DCWV Tattered Time card stack. In addition to the idea-ology pocket watch, he also used the Calendar 1, Going Somewhere, World Traveler, Soulful Journey and The Big Top stamp sets and some idea-ology sprocket gears.

Linda Elbourne

I filled my Idea-Ology Pocket Watch with some Paperscraps and Doodads that were distressed using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a Blending Tool. I then added some embellishments including a Game Spinner and a Pen nib. The second pendant was made using Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 Clock stamp; some Glossy Accents; a Facet and a Sprocket Gear!

Nancy Wethington

Nancy is decorating for Christmas so the natural choice for this week's challenge was an ornamental star. The base is clear acrylic that was embossed using the Allegro embossing folder on a Vagabond. It was then painted with Ranger's Gold Dabber. The paint was gently wiped off so that it stayed only within the deep grooves of the embossed music. Using Graphic 45's 8x8 Christmas Emporium paper, fussy cuts were made and adhered to the front of the embossed star along with Hero Arts Olive Green Gemstones.

Tracy Evans

Tracy created a Christmas card and matching gift bag charm using Tim's Season's Silhouettes and Odds and Ends stamps along with the Reindeer Flight die. The stars on the charm and on the card have been decorated with Ten Second Studio metal and embossed with the Snow Flurries Texture Fade. Embellishments include Christmas Adornments, Jump Rings, Placquettes and Swivel Clasp.

Candy Colwell

Candy is transforming one of her Christmas trees into a "vintage" tree. She also loves vintage Santas. So she created this "vintage" Christmas Star Tree Topper using a Victorian Santa image and an extra large glittery snowflake. It took Platinum and Rock Candy Stickles, Fun Flock, Art Glitter's Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter, and Distress Inks and Refills, Wonder Tape and Glossy Accents to help create this festive and dimensional Tree Topper.

Linda Coughlin

Vintage glass glittered gold stars are the focal point of Linda's holiday wall hanging. The stars are layered over a rosette cut from kraft glassine paper with the Tim Holtz Mini Rosette die. Linda used the Tim Holtz Concerto make to create a vintage style background and created a gold embossed collage of holiday elements with the Tim Holtz Festive Greenery decorative strip die.

Lynne Forsythe

With all the festivities and travel going on this week, Lynne created a rather simple project. She located a 3d star pattern and cut out two from a bit of Kraft Resist Paper. Using a scoring blade she scored the star. With Broken China and Stormy Sky Distress Stain she colored the star. She then adhered the two stars together. To finish off the star embellishment she used the Tattered Pine Cone die.

Sarah Engels-Greer

Sarah thought star-shaped cookie cutters could make great Christmas decorations and this 'Believe" star is one of three altered designs. Sarah created her star using Ranger Metal sheets embossed with the Textile folder, the cutter and metal are coloured with Alcohol inks and the star is adorned with an Idea-ology Philosophy tag.

Terry

With Christmas in mind, Terry created a candle-holder with lots of stars. Just perfect for a seasonal table centre-piece! She worked with the fabulous Christmas Emporium papers from Graphic 45, and for the stars she worked with Golden Distress Stickles using lots of Distress Inks on the edges and reindeer. To finish her festive piece, Terry topped everything off with Perfect Pearls Mist.

Ellen Vargo

Ellen altered a 6x6 canvas for this week's star theme. She used red pepper, citrus, pearl and copper paint dabbers, spellbinders nestaboard (stars), Tim Holtz star stamp (from bitty grunge set), black pitt pen, molding paste. Added some random patches of mirobeads, a sentiment stamped with mini alpha stamps, and added some bling. May all your wishes come true!

Dan

Dan covered this pocket journal with a design from the Retro Grunge card stack, adding the central stamped detail with the Psychedelic Grunge stamp set. All that was needed then was an Idea-ology chain tassel, making the perfect finishing touch for this stocking stuffer!

Linda Elbourne

I rustled up a card for this week's theme using Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 Botanical Art. I coloured my background with Wild Honey; Forest Moss and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks. I stamped in Coffee and Jet Black Archival. I finished with a Shimmer of Ranger Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearl Mist. I punched my stars out of Black card and glossed them up with Black Enamel Accents.
